Inper Flare Cortical Imaging System
Observe cortical signals through wide-field fluorescence with behavioral context, spatial alignment and regional time-course analysis.
Discuss configuration See local changes across the cortex. Inper Flare Cortical Imaging System Observe cortical signals with wide-field fluorescence and combine regional signals, behavior and timing to study activity across areas. Flare combines imaging optics, a camera and an animal platform for wide-field observation of dorsal cortex. Plan the imaging window, animal state and behavioral observation together. Optics and animal platform around one field. 02 · Instrument structure Baseline specifications from the product brochure; confirm effective frame rate for the illumination scheme and sampling settings. Wide field of view 10 × 10 mm² Brochure imaging rate; confirm for the configuration ≥72 Hz Image bit depth 16 bit Coverage and acquisition. Illumination and an appropriate fluorescent probe produce the cortical image. Calcium, neurotransmitter-related fluorescence and hemoglobin-related measurements each require matched labeling, spectra and analysis. Follow the signal through fluorescence. 04 · Optical path The brochure lists 410, 470, 530 and 570 nm options. Confirm source combinations, excitation/acquisition timing and reference measurements rather than assuming all signals are acquired independently at once. Choose wavelengths for the probe. 05 · Wavelength configuration The system includes shielding and can use externally configured illumination. Check light leaks, camera background and excitation conditions before recording to document the lighting used in comparisons. Manage ambient light for a defined imaging setup. 06 · Light management A vibration-isolating platform supports imaging and connected equipment. Inspect field displacement during animal movement and stimulation and assess residual-motion effects on regional signals. Stabilize the platform. Inspect residual motion. 07 · Mechanical stability Plan the cortical window, head fixation and optical position for the protocol. The source image shows a cortical surface; coverage and quality must be verified in the actual preparation. Window and fixation define the visible field. 08 · Imaging preparation Companion fine-behavior cameras can record eyes, whiskers and related observations alongside imaging. Relate behavioral video to image timing when interpreting movement, stimuli and state changes. Observe cortex with behavioral context. 09 · Behavior recording For Airpuff, VR or other stimulus integration, confirm hardware, interfaces and timing. For extensions such as optogenetics, specify the stimulus, spectra and synchronization needs, then validate the selected modules together. Confirm extensions for the stimulus task. 10 · Stimulus integration The companion workflow uses anatomical landmarks for alignment, including bregma and lambda in the source material. Check coverage, orientation and correspondence before comparisons across animals or recordings. Align the space before comparing regions. 11 · Reference alignment Relate aligned cortical images to an atlas reference, select regions and extract signals. Review ROI boundaries against window coverage and anatomy rather than treating an illustrative partition as a verified match. Use atlas references with reviewable regions. 12 · Regional selection Calculate mean fluorescence changes for selected areas and examine their course around experimental events. A regional average summarizes the sampled area rather than measuring an individual cell. A region becomes a time course. 13 · Regional time courses Compare regional time courses within a common spatial and event reference. Use behavior and stimulus records to distinguish conditions without treating fluorescence timing alone as a direction of neural information flow. See where signals change and when. 14 · Spatiotemporal inspection Regional time courses support studies of cortical functional connectivity and correlation structure across conditions. Interpret these statistical relationships with signal quality, shared motion and experimental controls. Study wider relationships from regional signals. 15 · Network relationships Confirm the signal, probe, window and spectra. Imaging and labeling Confirm behavior views, stimulus equipment, interfaces and timing. Behavior and stimuli Specify software modules and outputs for regional extraction, alignment, comparison and data handoff. Analysis and delivery Define acquisition and analysis together.
