Inper SD Sleep Deprivation System
Coordinate rod direction, speed, cycles, triggers and master–slave operation, and assess outcomes with independent recordings.
Discuss configuration Put your protocol in motion Inper SD Sleep Deprivation System Set rod direction, speed and cycles, then coordinate the intervention with triggers, schedules and master–slave operation. The controller, base, rod, clear cage, food trough, water bottle and lid form a removable assembly. The original structural clip shows how its parts fit together for setup and maintenance. A clear structure, from base to lid. 02 · Modular structure Review and set operating parameters on the device before a run. Touchscreen control Separate the cage, floor and accessories for cleaning after use. Removable assembly Observe activity through the cage and record sleep state with external video or electrophysiology. Clear cage Built around ongoing observation. Combine direction with speed, rotation duration and rest interval to define a cycle. Clockwise runs the rod in the clockwise direction. Clockwise A fixed direction Counterclockwise runs the rod in the opposite direction. Counterclockwise Choose the reverse direction Alternate provides alternating rotation. Alternate Alternate the direction Random varies rotation direction. Choose it for the protocol rather than treating a mode as a guaranteed deprivation level. Random Vary the direction Four rotation patterns. Set speed from 0.5 to 20 rpm. Circle defines each rotation period and Interval defines the pause, making the operating cycle explicit and reviewable. Control speed and rhythm. 05 · Operating cycle Choose start and stop conditions for the experiment and check the device clock before scheduled runs. Select Immediately and use Run to execute the current settings. Immediately Start after review At Time starts by the device clock; Repeat sets repetitions. Stop by clock time or elapsed duration as required. At Time Schedule a run Start or stop can use Trigger and the corresponding TTL input. Check signal levels and trigger settings before connecting equipment. Trigger Use an external event Define the start. Define the stop. Two rear Trigger inputs accept TTL signals. Integrate the rod operation into the timing of a video, electrophysiology or other control setup, with start/stop mapping checked for the chosen configuration. Two inputs for external events. 07 · External control Output can be disabled or tied to operating stages. It marks device activity rather than determining the animal’s sleep state. Choose Start, Stop or Start & Stop to mark the beginning, end or both transitions of rotation. Start / Stop Mark transitions Synchronous is high at 5 V during rotation and low during pauses, allowing another device to record operating intervals. Synchronous Follow the rotation state Send operating state to your recorder. Common operates independently. An Initiative master distributes operating parameters through Sync-Out, and a Driven slave receives them through Sync-In. Operating parameters are not edited locally in slave mode. Coordinate units from one master. 09 · Master–slave operation The food trough and water nozzle sit near the floor. Waste passes through the perforated disc into the tray below; monitor food, water, device condition and the animal throughout the experiment. Food, water and floor, considered together. 10 · Cage design The standard arrangement uses the perforated floor without bedding. For a bedding setup, remove the disc and install the supplied pad as instructed, then check rod clearance and the assembled cage. Choose the floor for the protocol. 11 · Floor configuration The lid has a central passage for a fiber or cable. Use a suitable optical or electrical rotary joint in connected experiments to manage the tether during movement. A path for fibers and cables. 12 · Cable routing Use the rear grounding connection and inspect electrophysiology under actual rotation and contact conditions. An insulating rod is optional. Grounding and insulation help manage interference; verify the chosen setup experimentally. Check noise before recording. 13 · Electrophysiology integration The touchscreen supports personal accounts and stores settings per account. Reuse a setup, then verify clock, triggers, direction and speed for the current experiment. Keep routine settings with your account. 14 · Reusable settings Allow acclimation with the apparatus idle, then check settings and food and water provision. Acclimate and check Use video or EEG/EMG recordings to assess actual sleep and behavior. Monitor alongside Determine deprivation and sleep stages from measurements rather than speed or rotation mode alone. Evaluate measured outcomes A considered experimental workflow. Remove and clean the cage and washable components after use, then dry them. Keep the controller and electrical connectors dry, follow the manual for maintenance and check operation after reassembly. Clean the parts. Reassemble when dry. 16 · Care Apparatus Rotating rod with touchscreen control Cage diameter 300 mm Speed range 0.5–20 rpm Direction modes Clockwise / Counterclockwise / Alternate / Random Cycle parameters Circle rotation duration and Interval pause duration Synchronization 2 Trigger inputs, Output, Sync-Out, Sync-In and ground Operating modes Common / Initiative / Driven Parameter Description Specifications and functions depend on the model, software version and delivered configuration.
